Markleville....Morton Monroe McShurley, 84, lifetime resident of Markleville, went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2010 at Miller Merry Manor in Middletown.He was born in Madison County, May 27, 1926, the son of Russell and Ruth Lewis McShurley.He was a 1944 graduate of Markleville High School.He was a member of Center Chapel Faith Fellowship in New Castle.He had owned and operated Mort's Auction Field for over 50 years, which shall be carried on by his grandson, Jeff in his honor.He was preceded in death sisters: Peggy Marsh and Mary Jane Jennings.Survivors are his wife: Jean (Edwards) of Markleville, daughters: Theresa(Robert) McShurley Hawkins of Middletown and Marla (Bruce) McShurley Stanley of Anderson, step children: Linda (Brad) Greathouse Stonoff of Middletown and Mike (Susi) Greathouse of Kokomo, grandchildren: Robert (Christina) Prewett of Anderson, Jeff (Lynette) Boone of Markleville, Christine (Brian) Stinnett of Anderson, Brian Hartley of Middletown, Adrienne (Keith) Wildman of Michigan, Leslie Stonoff of California, Ryan (Stephanie) Stonoff of Muncie, Eric (Jen) Greathouse of Greentown, Amy Greathouse of Kokomo, great grandchildren: Savannah and Montannah Prewett and Madyson Hicks of Anderson, MacKenzie and Gunner Boone of Markleville, Hunter Stinett of Anderson, Whitney, Kelsey and Jack Wildman of Michigan, Kaitlyn Wolfe of Greentown and Bodey Greathouse of Greentown and Rian Turley of Hopkinsville, KY, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at Center Chapel Faith Fellowship at 11:00 am, with Pastor Marlon Fannin officiating.Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.Friends may call at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown on Monday from 3-8 PM.Memorials may be made to cemetery Chapel Faith Fellowship.Online Guestbook at:
