Middletown...Mitchell Leon Sibert, 85, (a resident of Middletown for 52 years) passed away at his residence May 5, 2020. He was born in Anderson, Indiana August 22, 1934, the son of Mitchell "Mick" and Louise Downham Howard.
He had retired from Delco Remy after 30 years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Jeffery Sibert and a half brother, Raymond Sklebek.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Sibert of Middletown, whom he married January 12, 1962, half brother, Harry (Mary) Sklebek, half sister, Lois Bennett, step daughter, Phyllis (David) Brown , step son, John Iterman, granddaughters, Shannon (Chuck) Luke, Heidi (Steve) Nelson and grandson, Butch (Melissa) Benbow, 2 great grandchildren (Alivia Benbow and Hayden Benbow), several other bonus great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to the CDC restrictions and the safety of the family private services will be held at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastors Lance Stevens and Tim Overton officiating. Cremation will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
