Michael Neal Tompkins

Middletown....Michael Neal Tompkins, 60, passed away Friday at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.He was born in Middletown, Ohio, April 8, 1951 the son of Eldridge and Helen Webber Tompkins.He was a graduate of Southport High School and a US Navy veteran serving on the USS John F. Kennedy.He had retired from Naval Avionics and worked at Ft. Benjamin Harrison the last year.He had lived in Middletown since 2002 and was a member of the American Legion of Middletown and Tecumseh Lodge of Indianapolis.Survivors include his wife of 25 years: Rebecca Sue (Becky) Stum Tompkins of Middletown, 1 son: Bruce Tompkins of Indianapolis, 1 brother: Pat (Donna) Tompkins of Indianapolis and four grandchildren: Trevor, Corey, Bruce, Jr., and Madison, all of Greenfield, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Middletown American Legion or the Tecumseh Lodge.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
