Middletown....Michael ""Whitey"" D. Caine, 67, longtime resident of the Middletown area, passed away at his residence Tuesday evening from injuries from a fire in his home.He was born in New Castle, Indiana, July 28, 1950 the son of Ivan and Betty Osborne Caine.He was a graduate of Middletown High School and owned Whitey's Tavern in Middletown for many years as well as Caine's Corner.He worked with his family on the family farm.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Phil and Bill Caine and a son: Seth.Survivors are two daughters: Tassie Caine of Middletown and Holly Yoder (Paul) of Brownsburg, 2 step daughters: Nicole Sears (Dylan Lohrey) of Middletown and Samantha Sears (Rikki Taylor) of Anderson, 1 step son: James Sears (Zaney) of Cadiz, his partner for 25 years: Tammy Sears, grandchildren: Dakota Edwards, Isabella Caine, Noelle Yoder, Dalen Smith, Jada Smith, and Maddox Smith, step great grandchildren: Hailey and Hunter Lohrey, Kaylen and Ashlynn and Brynnlee Sears, and Caine Sears, 1 brother: Jerry (Carol) Caine and 1 sister: Joy Hornaday and special friend: Chance Reagin Graveside Celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday at 3:00 PM at Miller Cemetery in Middletown with Marty Ballard of the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene officiating.There will be no public viewing.Memorials may be made to Ballard and Sons, 118 South 5th, Middletown in his honor to assist the family with burial expenses.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.comThe Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of ""Whitey"" with family and friends.
