Maxine Alberta Ashton

Middletown...Maxine Alberta Ashton, 85, resident of Middletown, passed away June 30, 2016 at St. Vincent's Regional Hospital in Anderson.She was born in Mt. Pleasant Township on October 29, 1930, the daughter of John Alva and Leola Stephenson Rager.She was a graduate of Yorktown High School and was a homemaker most of her life.She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middletown and worked at Ball State University in the Psychology Department as a secretary.She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Mona Jane Hart and two brothers: Durwood and Gilbert Rager.Survivors are her husband of 54 years: Frances of Middletown , Children: Danny (Karen) Ashton of Daleville, David (Tammy) Ashton of Knoxville, TN, Phillip Ashton of Yorktown and Mathew Ashton of Frankton, and Lora (Darrell) Brooks of Carmel, 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.A Celebration of her life ill be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Pastor David Waters officiating.Burial will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Frankton.Friends may call on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11 am until the time of the service.
