Max Eugene Mummert, Sr.
January 18, 1943 — December 20, 2021
Max Eugene Mummert Sr. 78, currently of Moss, TN and formerly of New Castle, passed away Monday December 20, 2021 at the Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston, TN. He was born on January 18, 1943 in Knightstown, IN a son of the late Earl and Pearl (McDaniel) Mummert.
Max was a 1961 graduate of Knightstown High School. He retired from Delco Remy following 35 years of service, where he worked in the skilled trades. Max loved nature and outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hunting and riding his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed trips to the casino with his friends from Delco Remy.
Max is survived by his two sons, Max (Dawn) Mummert of Hartford City and Mark (Diana) Mummert of Ft. Worth TX; former daughter-in-law Frances Mummert of Daleville; grandchildren, Kyle (Fiancé, Heather Macher) Mummert of Muncie, Heather (Fiancé, Sy Vetor) Mummert of Middletown, Kristen Mummert (Partner Loren Gellinger) of Charleston, SC, Dylan Mummert of Daleville, Eric Mummert of Ft. Worth, TX; siblings, Frank Anderson of Knightstown and Goldie Little of KY.
Max was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Hattie Davis.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2021 at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Memorial contributions may be given to the DNR-Indiana State Park Fund, www.indiananrf.org . Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home.
