Max S. Fields

April 29, 1946 — January 20, 2022

Max S. Fields, 75, resident of Middletown went to his heavenly home on January 20, 2022.  He was born in Anderson, Indiana April 29, 1946 the son of Ray C. and Ruth Z. Oniel Fields.  He was a 1964 graduate of Middletown High School and retired from Delco Remy General Motors in Anderson after 32 years of service.  He lived his entire life in Middletown and loved spending time with his friends and family.

He was past master of Middletown Lodge F & AM #271 and was past worthy patron of the Middletown Order of the Eastern Star.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, York Rite, and Murat Shrine. He served on the USS Princeton in the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict and was a member of the Middletown American Legion Post 216.  Max was a member of the UAW Local 662. Max and his wife were members of a Corvette Club and they had also taken several missions trips to Belize.   He attended the Ovid Community church.

Survivors include his wife Sharon (Gadberry) of Middletown, 2 sons: Alan (Beth) Fields of Fishers and Brad Fields of Middletown, grandchildren: Alex, Jacob, Rusty Fields, Cassandra (Jeffery) Harrell, Johnathan and Michael Fields, 1 great grandchild Ryann Fields, 3 sisters: Helen (Donald) Musick of Anderson, Dorothy Payne of Anderson and Diana Thornburg of Middletown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law Richard Thornburg and Richard Payne.

Also surviving are special friends Kay and Duane Hastings, Jeff Goodnight and life- long buddy Mike Hanson, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Ovid Community Church in Ovid, Indiana with Pastor Keith Wooden officiating.  Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown with masonic and military rites at the graveside.

Friends may call from noon until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church.
