Mary Elizabeth Sheriff

Middletown...Mary Elizabeth Sheriff, resident of Middletown, passed away June 14, 2009 at Community Hospital in Anderson after a brief illness.She was born in Dugger, IN the daughter of Albert and Mary A. Graham Wade.She attended school in Dugger and Rockport and graduated from Rockport High School.She attended Evansville College and worked in a drug store in Rockport for four years.She came to Middletown in 1929 and worked as a clerk in several stores and was a bookkeeper for Charles S. Sheriff Sweeper Store in Anderson.She was a member of the Middletown United Methodist Church and the Middletown Garden Club.She is survived by a son: Charles Gary Sheriff and 1 sister: Virginia R. Deich of Danville.She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Sheriff, 1 sister; Edith Silknitter and 2 brothers: Albert and Harold Wade.Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.comArrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, Middletown Chapel.
