Muncie....Mary Lois Pierce, 88, joined her beloved John, who passed from this life on September 6, 2008. She has grieved her great loss with dignity and strength. She joined him on December 2, 2012.She was born in Henry County, December 28, 1923, the daughter of Ernest and Lula Mae Hinshaw Painter.She attended Sulphur Springs High School and was a member of the Henry County Historical Society and the Springport Christian Church.Survivors are her children: Harry Pierce (Shirley) of Arvada, CO, David Pierce of Daleville, William (Sharon) Pierce of Winchester, KY, Paul Pierce of Daleville, John Pierce (Beverly) of Carmel and Charles Pierce (Lori) of Knightstown, and a sister in lawe: Freda Franklin.She wishes her heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the many supportive friends both old and new, while living her final years at Morrison Woods Health Campus.She especially treasured her ""adopted"" mother: Marianna Kirkham and her ""special sister"" Helen Daugherty.Special thanks to all nursing home staff and personnel at Morrison Woods. All were exceptional in every way. Their smiles and kindness gave her great comfort.Treasured also was all the time she had with her grandchildren: Emily Pierce, Grahm Pierce, Michael Pierce, Chelsea (Steve) Roberts, Ian Pierce, Painter Pierce, Benjamin Pierce, and her great granddaughter: Makayla Roberts.Special appreciation to Pastor Rick Fennel and Tom Owen for great spiritual support.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
