Middletown..Mary Alice (Forbes) Johnson,98 passed away at the Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown following an extended illness. She was born in Nashville Tennessee on September 27, 1908 and was the daughter of Harry O. Forbes and Myrtle F Woodward. She graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1926 and attended Indiana State University for one year. She was married on September 5,1934 to Glayne W. Johnson. She has lived in the Middletown area since 1942 and was a member of the 6th Street Christian Church, the Friendly Club, The Jolly Loafers, and the Honey Creek Club. She was also a Cub Scout leader for several years. She is survived by 1 daughter: Helen Jeanette Childes, (husband John (Jack) of Anderson, Indiana. 3 sons: Larry (Jim) Johnson (wife Patsy) of Middletown, Indiana; Glayne (Buster) Johnson, (wife Rita) of Daleville, Indiana; Richard Earl Johnson of Chico, California. 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren,and 3 neices. She is preceded in death by her husband Glayne W. Johnson who died on September 22,1976; her parents Harry O. Forbes and Myrtle F. (Woodward) Forbes and two brothers, Harry Forbes and Richard Forbes. Funeral services be held at 2:00pmTuesday July 3 at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with the Rev Maynard Powell officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery east of Middletown.
