Daleville....Mary Lou Kendall Cheatham, 78, resident of Daleville, passed away February 25 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.She was born in New Maysville, Indiana, June 7, 1935, the daughter of Fred Wendell and Juanita Marie Bell Kendall.She was a 1952 graduate of Anderson High School and received a BA in Nursing from Ball State University. She received her specialization in Anesthesia and worked as a Nurse Anesthetist for ten years.She received her Masters degree at Indiana University in Nursing and worked as a professor in Nursing for Ball State University.She married Willard Dean Cheatham on October 14, 1960 and had two children: Douglass Alan and Lisa Dawn.She will be sadly missed by her husband Willard of Daleville, Lisa (Josh) Harmon of Avon, grandchildren: Conner Wade Hannon (Chelsea), Haley Noel Hannon, Marshall Douglas Hannon and sisters: Joyce Kendall Crosley, Judy McCoy and 2 brothers: Wayne Ramsey and Richard Ramsey.She was preceded in death by her parents, her son: Douglas Alan Cheatham and a brother: Don Ramsey.She was a dedicated nurse earned several awards for her service in nursing. Her passion for caring for others spanned her entire career.Her greatest love was her family and animals. She gave tirelessly of herself for family and friends. We have all lost a valuable friend. We love you.Friends may call on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Ballard and Sons, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, from 11-2 PM with a Celebration service in her honor at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Michael Gilbert officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, east of Middletown.Memorials may be made online to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals/ www.ASPCA.org or the Association for Suicide Prevention/ www.AFSP.org.The Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of Mary Lou Cheatham with family and friends.
