Martha Jean Ellison

Middletown...Martha Jean (Poffenbarger) Ellison, 81, resident of Middletown, passed away Wednesday evening at Community Hospital in Anderson.She was born in Anderson, May 22, 1926, the daughter of John and Retta Jordan Poffenbarger.She attended Middletown High School and retired from Sears and Roebuck Company.She was a member of the Redbud Quilt Guild of Anderson and the Sears Retiree Club.Survivors include her husband: John of Middletown, 2 sons: John of Perryville Ak, and Randy Joe Ellison of Falls City, WA, 1 sister: Catherine Goldsmith of Anderson, granddaughters: Taryan and Elise Ellison of Washington, step grandchildren: Patty Shull and David Lont of Alaska, 4 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: George, Warren, and John Poffenbarger and 1 sister: Thelma Rathbun.Martha had requested no services and chose cremation through Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown.Memorials may be made to the Henry County humane Society.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
