Marion Earnest Luce, 83, lifetime resident of Yorktown, died Monday evening at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after a brief illness. He was born in Albany, Indiana, October 7, 1918, the son of Espy and Lyla Whitehair Luce.He retired in 1983 from Marsh Warehouses in Yorktown after 20 years of service. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Local 345 of Yorktown and the Teamsters of Muncie. He had also farmed and worked at Allis Chamblers in Pendleton.Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years: Sylvia Mae (Cook) of Yorktown, 1 son: David (Jill) Luce of Yorktown, 2 grandchildren: Amanda and Adam of Yorktown, 2 sisters: Edith Voyles and Lois Luce of Anderson. He was preceded in death by 1 brother: Darrell Luce.Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:30 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut St., in Daleville with REv. Paul Luce officiating. Burial will follow in Sunderland Cemetery near Yorktown.Friends may call at the fuenral home on Wednesday from 4-8 PM with Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
