Middletown...Marilyn D. (Bertram) Laurie, 73, resident of Middletown, passed away Saturday morning at Miller's Merry Manor in Middletown after an extended illness.She was born in Charlestown, Indiana, July 2, 1935, the daughter of Ellis and Stella Winchester Bertram.She was a graduate of Chrysler High School and loved sports and driving fast cars.She had been a homemaker her entire life.She lived in Middletown for over 46 years and attended the Middletown Church of the Nazarene.She is survived by her husband of 54 years: Duane of Middletown, children: Cheri (Mike) Slyvester of Lapel, Brian Lee (Charlene) Laurie of Sulphur Springs, and Steve Laurie of New Castle, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, 2 brothers; Baisel Bertram of New Castle and Ellis (Sam) Bertram of Middletown, and 5 sisters: Audrey (Bruce) Duncan and Gloria (Tom) Riddle of Anderson, Agatha Zambos of Middletown, Carolyn Riley of Scottsdale, AZ, and Vicky Webb of New Castle.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Dr. Philip C. Rogers and Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Research Foundation.
