Sulphur Springs...Malcolm Jay Fadely, 77, resident of Sulphur Springs, passed away at Hickory Creek Nursing Care in New Castle on February 27, 2016 after an extended illness.He was born in Muncie, Indiana, April 29, 1938 the son of Keith Carlton and Mary Blanch Rutherford Fadely.He was a 1956 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and a veteran of US Army National Guard.He was a 75 year member of the Sulphur Springs Christian Church, 50 year member of the Sulphur Springs Masonic Lodge, a member of the Knights of Pythias, a 50 year member of the Sulphur Springs Lions Club, he was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash by the Governor of Indiana, and was a member of the Murat Shrine and New Castle Shrine Club.He had been a member of the Union State Bank Board of Directors and was a Town Board member for many years.He and his family had operated Fadely's Grocery Store in Sulphur Springs for many, many years.He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother: Meredith Kay Fadely.Survivors are his sisters: Mary Whitworth (Richard) of Springport and Barbara Stohler (Ermil) of Naples, FL. niece: Marilou Jakubielski (Adam) of Bonita Springs, FL, nephew: Stephen Stohler of Naples, FL, 5 great nieces and nephews: Tristan and Taryn Stohler, Jenna, Ty, and Ava Jakubielski, nephews: Tim Whitworth of Anderson and Tony Whitworth of Pleasantville, CA, Lifetime friend: Jim Garrett of Middletown, his group of angels: Lisa, Stormy, Donna, Risa, Shirley, Misty, Rodney and Lori, Melissa, Marjorie and Don and Deidre, and two very special nieces: Leah and Latisha.A Celebration of Jay's life will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with C.J. Buskirk and Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will be held at Mt. Summit Cemetery.Friends may call on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the services.Knights of Pythias will observe memorial services at 1:30 and the Masonic Lodge will conduct them at 1:45 the day of the services.Memorials may be made to Jay's church: The Sulphur Springs Christian Church.Military rites will be conducted by the Middletown American Legion Honor Guard.Online Guestbook at:
