Middletown...Lora Pearl Gift, 86, resident of Middletown passed away Tuesday at St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson. She was born in Middletown, Indiana May 31, 1932, the daughter of Arthur and Blanch (Fletcher) Hall. She was a graduate of Middletown High School. She spent many years volunteering at Millers Merry Manor in Middletown and also spent 18 years volunteering her time at the Middletown Food Pantry.
She loved driving around the area shopping for antiques with friends and family. She was honored to be named Citizen of the Year for her hometown of Middletown highlighting her devotion for community service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Marion Duke Braden, her husband Howard Gift, 1 son: Jerry Lee Braden, 2 brothers: Otto Hall and Arthur Hall Jr., 2 sisters: Julia Ann Romine and Dora Lucille Mattox, Step Child: Bob Gift
She is survived by 1 son: Rickey Duane Braden, 1 brother: Roy E Hall, 1 step child: Marilyn Gift, and 2 grand daughters: Tina Braden Schools and Carrie Marie Braden, 3 step grand daughters: Rose Hayes, Tina Gift, and Jennifer Abshire, 3 step grandsons: Bobby Gift, Michael Abshire, and Daniel Abshire, 3 great granddaughters: Serena Gunoe, Zoe Braden, and Kendall Ponce, 1 great grandson: Emmett Oaks, 3 great great grandsons: Grayson, Micah, and Benjamin Gunoe and several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th Street, Middletown, Indiana with Maynard Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the time of the services.
