New Castle...Lola Ann (Sipes) Tucker, 86, resident of New Castle, died Saturday at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness.She was born in Shelbyville, March 19, 1918 the daughter of James Leo and Ruth Ann White Sipes.She had attended Shelbyville High School and had worked for many years at Saunders Flooring in New Castle.She and her late husband Charles had been owner of Tucker Furnishings in Middletown from 1949 until 1977. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #110 where she was Past Worthy Matron. She was also Past OES District Deputy, Past Grand Ruth, and Past President of the 12th district Association as well as Kappa Delta of Alexandria.Survivors include: one daughter: Julia Cole of Muncie, 3 grandchildren: Robert Brie (Bobby) Hinkle of New Castle, Dale Ray of Indianapolis, and Liza Ann Hinkle Lycan of Anderson, 3 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Pearl Dothitt of Edinburg and Ruth Louise Craig of Bellview Florida.She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, 1 brother: Chester Sipes and 1 sister: Vivian Spicer.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Solomon David officiating assisted by Kenneth Riggs and Tim Hamilton.Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 with OES Memorial Services at 8:30 pm.Memorials may be made to the Indiana Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star Cancer Fund.Online Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.com
