Yorktown...Lois L Brown, 75, resident of Yorktown, passed away Friday morning at the Elmcroft Center in Muncie after an extended illness.She was born June 19, 1928 in Colorado Springs, CO, the daughter of Joseph and Wilma Houtz Losey.She was a lifelong resident of Yorktown moving from Grove, Kansas in 1949.She retired in 1988 from teaching in the Anderson School System where she had taught kindergarten for 43 years.She was a 1954 graduate of Grove High School in Kansas and Ball State University in Muncie recieving her BA in 1957 and her MA in 1965.She was a member of the Yorktown Christian Church and was active with the Daleville Lions Club.She had been preceded in death by her husband: William ""Bill"" Brown in 2000 and infant son: Charles William Brown in 1952 as well as her parents.Survivors include 2 sons: James Brown (Darla) of Yorktown and Marshal Brown of Yorktown, 2 daughters: Mrs. James (Marie) Johnson of Orlando, FL and Mrs. Charles (Roseanne) Schurick of Rising Sun, IN., sisters: Mrs. Lutie Riedel of Hays, KS and Mrs. Bud (Gladys Marie) Peterson of New York State, one brother: Jim (Thelma) Losey of Grinnell, KS, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at the Ballard and Sons Fuenral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville with Rev. James Barton officiating.Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Daleville.Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Yorktown Christian Church or the Mt.
