Sulphur Springs.....Leland Ray Smith, 75, resident of Sulphur Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon at his home.He was born in Union City, Indiana, October 23, 1937, th son of John B. and Ethel Strong Smith.He was a 1955 graduate of Farmland High School and was director of Sulphur Springs Regional Wastewater District.He was a US Navy Veteran, member of the American Legion and Middletown First Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife: Barbara Jean of Sulphur Springs, 7 children: Toni Cecil (Randy) of Muncie, Vicky Mosser (Jeff) of Brooksville, FL, Debra Wait (Dan) of New Castle, Lori Petersen of Muncie, Bradley Smith (Lisa) of Middletown, Dawn Lowe (Randy) of Anderson, and Jennifer Walker (Doug) of Middletown, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren, 1 sister: Gayle Mills (Charles) of Farmland.Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Joseph Leland Smith.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.Friends may call from 5 until the time of the services.Memorials to American Cancer Society or ARF, Animal Rescue Fund.The Ballard family is honored to celebrate the Life of Leland Smith with family and friends.Online Guestbook at:
