Middletown...Leddie E. Triplett, 89, departed for Heaven on Saturday, February 21, 2004 after a brief stay at St. Johns Medical Center. Leddie lived a long, enjoyable full life. She was a loving mother, a faithful wife, and skilled homemaker whose life spanned almost a complete century.She was born in Anderson, Indiana, April 19, 1914, the daughter of Marion Francis and Pearl Hohn Toombs. She had lived in Middletown since 1944 moving from Anderson.She was longstanding member of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene. She loved her church family, visiting with friends, gardening flowers, painting and music. She also loved ice cream. No matter how cold the weather was, Leddie loved ice cream.She was a member of several Home Ec clubs of the area. She was known for her ""three-kiss and a hug"" greeting and her firm handshake.Leddie was married to Ernest Lynn Triplett in Corning, Arkansas, September 15, 1931 and moved to Anderson Shortly afterwards. They moved to Middletown in 1944 and farmed in the area.Ernest worked and retired from Guide Lamp in Anderson. Leddie supported her husband in numerous business endeavors throughout the years while raising her family through the early century where the word ""convenience"" was unknown. She seemed to never know a stranger and to all she met treated them with love and respect as if family. She is now residing in the paradise prepared for her by her Lord. We will see her there. We hope you will too, she'd love to see you there.Survivors include: 2 sons: Carl M. (Bonnie) of Anderson and Larry (Janice) of Middletown, 1 daughter: Joyce Blake of Middletown, 1 brother: Roy Toombs of Anderson, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest in 1980, 1 daughter: Becca C. Purdue in 2003, 2 great grandsons.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North 5th, Middletown, with Dr. Philip C. Rogers and Rev. David Whitteberry officiating.Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.Friends may call at the church on monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.Memorial contributions may be made to the Middletown Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.Online Guestbook is available at:
