On March 1, 2025, Larry Lee Smith, 82, of Anderson, Indiana, a true and devoted Christian was called home to be with the Lord. He was born on September 26, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana. Larry lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Larry was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Navy, from 1960 to 1966. He was a devoted employee at General Motors and retired in 1996. Larry also started his own business with A1 Insulation, in 1975, which he owned for several years. When he wasn't working hard, he could be found indulging in his favorite hobby–reading scripture. Larry was a member and served at Grace Baptist Church of Anderson, as well as First Baptist Church of Daleville for many years. Larry's love for the Lord and spirituality was infectious, and he always had a kind word or piece of wisdom to share with those around him.
Larry is Preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Helen, his daughter Shelly Smith, and his son Brad Smith.
Larry is Survived by the mother of his children, Pamela Smith, his children, daughter Rebecca Richwine, son Chad Smith, daughter Shanda Smith Moore (husband Jeff), and daughter-n-law Pepper Smith; his 16 grandchildren, Ross (wife Amy), Ryan, Travis, Devin (wife Maegen), Zachary (wife Grace), Alyssa, Kyle, Adam, Kaitlyn, Shane, Christopher, Matthew, and Brody; several great grandchildren, and many wonderful friends.
Throughout his life, Larry was blessed with five wonderful children, who brought him immense joy and pride. His legacy lives on through them and his sixteen adoring grandchildren.
While Larry's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, his memory will continue to bring smiles and warmth to those who were lucky enough to have known him. Rest in peace, Larry, your light will never dim.
A funeral service for Larry will be held on Thursday March 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home 8212 S. Walnut St. Daleville, IN. 47334. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
