Larry Dale Romine

Larry Dale Romine, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, in Middletown, Indiana, at the age of 83. Born on July 16, 1941, in Anderson, Indiana, Larry was the son of Julia (Hall) Romine and Malcolm Romine. He was a beloved member of his family and community who touched the lives of all who knew him.

Larry worked at Delco Remy for 30 years, where he was known for his dedication and skill. Larry loved working on old cars and was known as the family’s go-to auto mechanic. He could often be found in his garage talking about or repairing vehicles. Beyond cars, he had a passion for tractors and could take them apart and put them back together with ease. Larry enjoyed repairing anything he could get his hands on and spent every moment of his retirement in his garage, relishing the joy of his craft.

Larry was never without his signature flannel shirt and ball cap, a look that reflected his hardworking and down-to-earth personality. He was always there to lend a hand and offer advice freely, embodying a spirit of generosity and care. He approached life one day at a time, finding contentment in the simple pleasures and the satisfaction of a job well done.

Larry shared over 61 wonderful years of marriage with his late wife, Mary Katherine Romine, whom he cherished deeply. He is survived by his three sons: Ronald Romine (wife Carissa Winter Romine), Charles Romine (wife Roxann Hudson Romine), and Craig Romine (wife Liz Caldbeck Romine); his grandchildren Cody Romine (Joely Dudley) and Brittany Romine (Faron Hudson); and his great-granddaughters Bettie and Natalie Hudson.

Visitation for Larry Dale Romine will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ballard Funeral Home, with the funeral service immediately following.

Larry Dale Romine will be remembered for his love, strength, and the many memories he created with those who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, care, and kindness that will be treasured forever.
