Anderson...LaMar Franklin Sears, 91, former Middletown resident, passed away Sunday at St. Vincents Regional Health Center.He was born in Limedale, Indiana, August 19, 1921, the son of Harold and Beulah Toney Sears.He was a graduate of Greencastle High School and served in WW 2 in the US Army in Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe;Rhineland and Ardennes.he held the rank of Technician Fourth Grade.He was a skilled meatcutter for most of his life working at the Harvest Market in Middletown as well as Emge in Anderson.He was a member of the Middletown Lions Club, Middletown Conservation Club, Middletown Bass Club, Fall Creek and Alexandria Gun Club, seved on the Fall Creek Township Advisory Board, and lead the Explorers Boy Scouts for many years.He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Stanley, Leland, and Floyd, and 2 sisters: Fern Rose Clark and Maxine Maguire, 2 grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.Survivors include his wife of nearly 71 years (April 2, 2013 anniversary): Katherine Dennis Sears of Anderson, 4 children: Dennis Gooding (Karen) of Anderson, Bonita Hanson (Dean) of Middletown, Judy Martt and Mary Sears of Middletown, 9 grandchildren: David and Denise Hanson, Debbie Vanasdal, Donna (Caleb) Covey, Chad (Kim) Malloy, Joe (Laura) Gooding, Jimmie and Bonita Martt, and Margret Martt (Quentin), 23 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Pastor Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call on Thursday from 11 until the time of the services.Online Guestbook at:
