Kevin Guffey

Kevin Gene Guffey, 48, died peacefully at his home in Cheyenne, WY, on August 19, 2016, as a result of pancreatic cancer. He was born June 27, 1968, the son of Gene & Brenda Guffey, Daleville. He was a graduate of Daleville High School (1986), Lincoln Technical Institute with an associate degree in Diesel Mechanics & Business, and the Cummins Truck Driving School. Kevin was a member of the Daleville Chapter of Demolay and served as master councilor.Kevin's career as a truck driver spanned 25 years. He logged more than 3 million safe driving miles. In addition to his passion for truck driving, Kevin was an avid biker and lived to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Hunting with his dad and son and supporting our military troops and veterans were also his favorite pastimes.Kevin is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dawn (Blackburn) Guffey, and his son, Shea Guffey, of Cheyenne, WY; his parents, Gene & Brenda Guffey, Daleville; sisters, Melinda Orebaugh (Allan), Holmen, WI, and Alisa McPhearson (Rodney), Frankton, IN. He is further survived by his in-laws, Kerry & Debbie Raber, Fishers, IN; sisters-in-law, Shanna Webb (Brandy), Warsaw, IN, and AndrAC.a Compton (Danny), Colorado Springs, CO; brothers-in-law, Thomas Blackburn (Bethany), Wellington, CO, and Anthony Blackburn (Sarah), West Point, NY; six nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews and numerous biker brothers and ""adopted"" family members.Kevin was preceded in death by his uncle, Michael Massengale; his loving grandparents, Henry & Ina Massengale and Ester & Sallie Guffey; and his father-in-law, Anthony Blackburn.A celebration of Kevin's life will be held from 2:30-5:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 18, at Tabor Church, 10500 South County Road 300 West, Muncie, IN, with a brief memorial service at 3:30 p.m.Cremation was by Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.The family extends their sincere appreciation to Davis Hospice Center, especially David Ivester, RN, for Kevin's exceptional care.
