Kenneth B. Lewis, 96, of McCordsville, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at his residence at Traditions of Brookside. He was born on July 4, 1926 in Middletown, IN, a son of the late Lloyd and Audrey (Lykins) Lewis.
Kenny was a 1944 graduate of Cadiz High School where he excelled at baseball, basketball and math. Following graduation, Kenny was drafted into the US Navy and served during WWII. Upon his return from the war, Kenny began working at Rittenour-Lewis Insurance Agency in Markleville as an insurance agent; he eventually became owner and served the community for 22 years.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jane E. Lewis of McCordsville; children, Kenna (Chip) Hawkins of Jacksonville, FL, Karel (Jack) Cole of Selma, IN, Charles “Chip” Lewis of Washington, D.C., Martin Downing of Atlanta, GA, Marcie (Lisa) Hanson of Noblesville, IN and Scott (Nicole) Downing of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Katie Montooth of Greenwood, IN, Kelsey (Mason) Voge of Independence, MO, Sam (Kasey) Parker of Greencastle, IN, Emerson, Davis and Nicklaus Downing all of Orlando, FL, Kimberly, Kevin and Kayli; great grandchildren, Harrison, Warren, Kensley and Francesca.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his first wife, Iris (Alley) Lewis in 1983.

A private service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown.
