Middletown....Kenneth Eugene King, Sr., 69, resident of Middletown, passed away Wednesday morning at his residence.He was born in New Castle, Indiana, June 30, 1945, the son of Hubert H. and Doris Evelyn Swoveland King-Peavler.He was a US Army veteran and a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School class of 1963.He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in 1998 serving in skilled trades.He had lived in Henry County his entire life. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Masonic Lodge, UAW 663, and served as a special Deputy for the Henry County Sheriff's Department.He loved teasing his grandkids and his family, carpentry, and camping at the creek.Survivors are his wife of 49 years: Darlene (Moore) of Middletown, children: Amy King McGinnis of Pendleton and Kenneth E. King, Jr. (Thalia) of Indianapolis, 3 grandchildren: Beau McGinnis of Nashville, TN, Marleau McGinnis of Pendleton, and Katie King of Indianapolis, 5 brothers and sisters: Doris Hoover (Gib) of New Castle, Donald King (Dee) of New Castle, Hubert King of Middletown, Ron Peavler of Shirley, and Robert Peavler of New Castle, and his extended family: The Lowery's, as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Patricia Lowery.A celebration of life will take place on Saturday at 11:30 am at Ballard & Sons, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery near Middletown.Friends may call on Friday from 4-9 PM with masonic rites at 8:00 pm.Memorials may be made on line to the Alzheimer's Association (
