Muncie...Kenneth Lee Barnes, age 57, a resident of the Muncie area, passed away on Wednesday May 15, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on January 16, 1956 and was the son of Orville Barnes and Lucille Barnes (Osman). He was a graduate of Mt. Comfort High School.He was a member of the school board at St. Lawrence Catholic Church School. Was employed by the Union School Corporation in Modoc, Indiana. He was a business Manager/Treasurer for over 20 years. He ended his career at Union School Corporation in Modoc, Indiana. He loved classic Si-Fi d old black and white movies, and The Three Stooges. He collected antique cars, loved World War II and Biblical history.He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Shirley Barnes, and a Brother, Brian Barnes.Survivors include his wife. Beth Barnes (Douthitt); two daughters, Amber Herman of Muncie, Rebecca Johns (Matt) of Muncie, a son James Barnes of Muncie, and a step-son Robert Ford. Two sisters Kathy Gilliland (Ken) of Indianapolis,and Linda McIntosh (Dwayne) of Nashville, Tennessee, and a brother Marty Barnes (Debbie) of Noblesville. Two grandchildren Hunter McCormick and Carly Johns also survive along with several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be Monday May, 21 from 4-8 at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Funeral services will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Muncie at 10 A.M. Tuesday, with Father Dennis Goth officiating.The Ballards are honored to celebrate the life of Kenneth Barnes with family and friends.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Lawrence Food Pantry.Online condolences can be made at
