Kathy Marcum

Chesterfield...Mary Kathleen Marcum, 69, longtime resident of the Chesterfield-Daleville area, died Friday evening at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson after an extended illness.She was born in Clinton County, Kentucky, January 9, 1935, the daughter of Elmer and Irene Burchett Hawkins. She worked in many capacities at the American Legion and was the former co-owner of the Bossman restaurant in Middletown with her husband Byron Marcum for many years. She was the former bookkeeper at the Story's Truck Stock in Daleville and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved bowling and participated in several area leagues.She attended Albany High School in Kentucky.Survivors include three sons: Jeffrey (Diana) Marcum of Alexandria, Phillip (Jennifer) Marcum of Pendleton, and Terry (Michelle) Marcum of Middletown, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, 3 sisters: Geneva Johnson of Greenfield, Thelma Clark of New Castle, and Linda (Bill) Coomer of New Castle, 2 brothers: Elza (Wilma) Hawkins of Albany, Kentucky and Elmer (Anna Belle) Hawkins of Albany, Kentucky, Special Friend: David Siebert, several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Byron Dale in 1992, 1 brother, 2 sisters, and 1 son: Michael Marcum in 1976.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, with Pastor Keith Wooden officiating.Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie.Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-9 PM.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.Online Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.com
