June F. Lennen, 94, formerly of Middletown, died peacefully December 3rd with her family by her side. Preceded in death by her parents, Orran and Irene Fadely and her loving husband of 71 years, James L. Lennen Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her children, James L. Lennen lll and Lisa Lennen, grandson Myles L. Bobenhausen and grandaughter Jami Sumner as well as five great grandchildren. June retired from Fairfield Elementary School as a cook and loved working with children. A lifelong member of the Sixth street Christian Church, she knitted a baby blanket for every child that was born there. An avid bridge player, she belonged to two bridge clubs with her best friends and always opened her heart to all she knew. She was an extremely generous soul who would do anything to help anyone, a lover of flowers and gardening and working in the yard. She spent the last few years in a waterfront community in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she made many new friends, some of whom called her Junebug because she was so cute. Never a dull moment, there was always something to do; trips, parties with live music and dancing, bridge, bingo, shopping, fine dining, bingo, and going to the movie theater every night, in addition to watching the beautiful sunsets over the water. She even fished for the first time, catching a 26 inch redfish right off the dock. She had a wonderful warm and sunny life during this time. Friends may call at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, December19th from 11:30-12:30, followed by a celebration of her life, one lived well, officiated by the Reverend Maynard Powell. She was very much adored by all who knew and loved her. Now our twinkling star, June, will shine brightly forever. Online Guestbook at:
