Julie Ann Batthauer

Julie Ann Batthauer, 54 of Daleville passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 29, 1970 to David and Brenda (Hornbeck) Southerland.

Julie was a 1989 graduate of Highland High School. She went to Anderson University for nursing and was the youngest to enter the program. Julie loved her job. She worked in labor and delivery where she helped deliver over 1,000 babies. She was a caring person and was always checking in on her patients. Julie was a jokester; she loved to play jokes on her Aunt Judy and was always smiling. She enjoyed going to Dale Hollow and Florida, going to garage sales and loved taking bubble baths. Julie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her three grandkids and enjoyed every minute that the family spent together.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Andy Batthauer; two sons, DJ (Nicole) Batthauer and Sam Batthauer; grandchildren, Andrew, Leo and Clara Batthauer; mother, Brenda Southerland; dear friends, Karrie Milburn, Melanie Strup and Charity and Finton Loveless.

She is preceded in death by her father, David Southerland.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Chris Bunch officiating. Burial will follow at Saunders Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jar Community Church at 222 East Main Street, Muncie, Indiana 47305. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
