Joyce Ann Ashton

Middletown....Joyce Ann East Ashton, 83, resident of Middletown, passed away December 3, 2017 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.She was born in Middletown, January 25, 1934, the daughter of Hobart and Marie Heflin East.She was a 1952 graduate of Middletown High School and worked for many years in sales at the Dorothy Blevins Shoppe.She had been preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, and a sister: Barbara Haynes McMichael.Survivors are one son: Nick (Wendy) Ashton of Middletown, grandson: Casey D. Ashton of Toronto, Canada, nieces: Sharon (Lewis) Harshman and Chris (Steve) Sheets of Anderson, 2 great nieces, 3 great nephews, 3 great great nephews and 6 great great nieces.A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at Ballard and sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.
