Pendleton...Joseph William Whitehead, age 77 a resident of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away, Wednesday July 30, at Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown, after an extended Illness. He was born on August 24, 1930 in Anderson, the son of Otto Wallace Whitehead and Blanche Olive (Hood). He had been employed at Nicholson File in Anderson for 25 years and worked at Engineering Research International in Indianapolis. He was a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.He had lived in Madison County for 65 years and was a member of the NRA and North Christian Church in Markleville. Survivors include six children:Karen Braden (husband Monty) of Frankton, Brenda Jo McConnell of Anderson, Michael E. Whitehead of Monticello, Kentucky, John Allen Rediker (wife Jeanette) of Alexandria, Sheila Kay McCorkle (husband Barry) of Anderson, and Rebecca Sue Shull of Pendleton,12 grand children and 4 great-grand children aa well as three sisters Opal, Teddy and Judy. He was preceeded in death by his parents , one brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Ledbetter and Rev.
