Shirley...Joseph Anderson Highmiller, 85, resident of rural Shirley, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18th at his residence.As the only child of Sylvia and Mildred (Farmer) Highmiller, he had lived in Henry County his entire life. He loved farming, gospel music, studying the Bible and smiling every day.He farmed for over 71 years.He was a 1942 graduate of Cadiz High School and a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in New Castle and a past Precinct Committeeman.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 15 years; Pauline Maynard Highmiller, and his son: Joseph (Jody) Anderson Highmiller II.He is survived by his children's mother: Charlene (Cohee) Shirkey of Melbourne, FL, children: Mary Catherine (Nicholas) Weaver of Greenwood, Donald Warren (Laura) Highmiller of Valkaria, FL, Michael Lee Highmiller of Middletown, Jennifer Ann (David) Cutsinger of Columbus, IN, and Deborah Elaine (Larry) Jones of Melbourne, FL, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.
