Joseph Mckay Barber

Middletown...Joseph McKay Barber, 89, resident of Middletown and former longtime resident of Chesterfield, passed away November 11, 2015 at Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.He was born in Muncie, Indiana, January 5, 1926, the son of Lorenzo R. and Margaret P Strohm Barber.He was a graduate of Middletown High School 1943, and a US Navy Veteran.He retired from General Motors as a Tool and Die Maker after 20 years of services.He was a member of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene and the Marine Corps League.He received a Presidential Citation from the Department of the Navy.Survivors are three sons: James Ray Barber (Rayne), Kyle E. Barber, and James Allen Barber, all of Anderson, sister in law: Irma L. Barber of Anderson, 3 grandchildren: Tonya (Matt), Ryan (Emily) and Kali, and 3 great grandchildren; Kalyn, Allison, and Colin, Nieces: Vickie Riggins, Marcia Barber, and Karen Bailey as well as additional nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Billie, and two brothers: Harold H. and jack W. (his twin).A Celebration of Joe's life will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Dr. Philip C.
