Muncie...John William Smith, 81, longtime Daleville/Middletown area resident, passed away December 23, 2015, at Morrison Woods Healthcare in Muncie.He was born in Pleasant Ridge Park, Kentucky, April 25, 1934 and was raised by Fred and Rosannah Murphy Smith.He was a US Army Veteram.He retired from Sader Electric as an operating engineer.He was a member of the Middletown Masonic Lodge #271, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine, Madison County Shrine Club, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Post of Chesterfield and Daleville, 40 and 8 of Anderson.Survivors are his wife: Mary of Daleville, children: Stephanie Boots of Columbus, Steven Smith of Bayside, CA, and Nathan Smith (Shawn) of Daleville, grandchildren: Bree, Alex, Lindsey, Dustin, and Danielle, 4 great grandchildren.There will be no services.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.comMemorials to the charity of the donors choice.The Ballard family is honored to care for the family of John Smith.
