John Joseph Sheridan

Middletown...John Joseph Sheridan, 69, resident of Middletown, passed away Thursday at his home after an extended illness.He was born in Marion, IN, October 4, 1938, the son of John Russell and Helen June Nykirk Sheridan. He retired from General Motors in 1988 after 32 years of service as an engineer.He was a graduate of General Motors Institute and was a former volunteer fire fighter in Middletown serving as Chief for over 5 years.He was active in the Fall Funfest committee in Middletown and had recieved awards for five patents from Genral Motors.He loved model railroading and camping. He adored his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife of 18 years: Pam of Middletown, Children: Christy (Shane) Young of Shirley, Ronnie (Chantel) Peavler of Daleville, Kim (Chuck) Deweese of Middletown, Jennifer (Scott) Wheat of Noblesville, Bobby (Fiance; Stephanie) Peavler of Pendleton, Steve (Julie) Sheridan of Texas and Katie (Bill) Cavanaugh of Plainfield, 21 grandchildren, 1 brother: Hansel (Jean) Sheridan of Ft. Wayne.He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Niddletown, with Rev.
