John Edgar Jones

Muncie...John Edgar Jones, 74, resident of the rural Muncie area, went to be with his Lord on Saturday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born in Henry County on October 13, 1928, the son of Elzie and Martha M. Clements Jones.He retired from Warner Gear in Muncie in 1978 after 30 years and also worked as a courier for First United Bank. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean conflict serving in Alaska.He was a longtime member of the Sulphur Springs Lions Club and was an avid bowler. He attended Cornerstone brethren Church in Cowan.Survivors are his wife of 47 years: Nondus Jean (Smith) of Muncie, 2 daughters: Lisa (Michael) Pratt of Middletown and Joni Lantry of Indianapolis, 5 grandchildren: Nathan (Tammy) Pratt of Muncie, Elizabeth and Maria Pratt of Middletown and Casey and Brian Lantry of Indianapolis, 1 great grandchild: McKenzie Pratt of Muncie, several cousins.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Cornerstone Brethren Church near Cowan with Pastor Ron Walters officiating.Memorial Dove release services will be held at Miller cemetery following the services.Friends may call at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone brethren Church, American Diabetes association, or the American Heart association through the funeral home.Online Guestbook and Family Condolences available at: www.ballardandsons.com
