Markleville....John Charles Holmes, 65, resident of Markleville, passed away at Community Hospital in Anderson, December 30, 2017.He was born in Anderson, August 2, 1952, the son of James A. Holmes and Marilyn Rose Titus Holmes. He was a 1970 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and worked for over 29 years at Auto Truck Service Anderson.He had lived in Markleville his entire life and was a member of the Markleville Park Board, served 18 years on the Markleville Town Board, was an officer with the Markleville Police Department and attended Markleville East Christian Church.Survivors include his wife of 37 years: Jane Ellen (Murphy) of Markleville, children: Shawn Garris (Amber) of Anderson and Alison Yocum (Aaron) of Markleville, 6 grandchildren, cousins: Jane (Ken) Lewis, Matt (Alison) Foust, and Jacob Foust.He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 6:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.
