Alexandria.....John William Delph, 86, rural Alexandria, passed away early Monday morning at his residence.He was born in Yorktown, September 2, 1927, the son of Owen O. and Mabel V. Jackson Delph.He was a Yorktown High School graduate of 1945 and a WW 2 Veteran of the US Army with occupational forces in Japan.He retired in 1981 from Delco Remy in Anderson after 31 years as a welder.He lived his entire life in the Dalaware/Madison County area.He was a member of the Daleville Masonic Lodge where he was past master in 1987.He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis and was Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.Survivors include his wife: Norma Jean of Alexandria.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Clarence J. Delph and Owen O. Delph, Jr. and 1 sister: Helen Cox.Celebration services will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons, 8212 South Walnut, Daleville with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.Entombment will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery, Muncie.Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 with Masonic Services at 8:00 PM.Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.Online Guestbook at:
