John David Clark

November 10, 1949 — September 14, 2021

John David Clark, 71, was born November 10, 1949 in New Castle, Indiana to Opal Edward Clark and Edna Rae (Birchfield) Clark.  He passed away on September 14, 2021 from Covid.  complications.

He grew up in rural Knightstown graduating in 1968 from Knightstown High School.  He married Brenda (Hanson) Clark in 1971.  They lived in Markleville and for 45 years they lived in Middletown.

He went to United Electronics Institute, working in the electronics field at Westinghouse, Wavetek, and Diversified Systems.

He enjoyed taking care of a big garden each year, growing tomatoes from seed.  He took care of a large yard with many fruit trees.  He enjoyed taking the young ladies in his family to Goodwill.  He liked going to Fairs, Beef and Boards, and attending Camp Mack with his extended family.  He enjoyed helping others when he could.  He maintained vehicles and did construction projects.

He had several dogs that he loved; the last two were Sparky and Toby.

He was a member of the Upper Fall Creek Church of the Brethren of Middletown serving as a trustee..

He is survived by his wife Brenda (Hanson) of Middletown, two daughters, Michelle R. Shannon (Jay) and Savanna Keller, two grandchildren, Tyler Shannon, Erin Shannon, and a brother, Paul E. Clark (Jo), seveal nieces and nephews and beloved in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Don and Ginny Hanson, and sister in law Dona Burkhardt.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Pastor Doug Hinton officiating.  Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
