John ""Joe"" Bosman, 70,resident of Middletown, went to be with Jesus on December 17, 2011. He was born on February 14, 1941 to John & Thelma Bosman in Anderson, In. He moved to Albany, In and later moved to LaFayette, In, before enlisting in the United States Marines. Joe was very proud to serve his Country and the United States Marine Corps from August 1959 thru May 1965. A couple of the units that he was attached to were the 2nd Battalion 3rd Marines 5th Marine Regiment and the 1st Battalion 9th Marines. Ooh-Rah~Semper Fi Joe worked at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1992. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with one of the most important people in his life, his wife Joyce and all of his family that he cherished and many, many wonderful friends. He made so many memories and helped everyone in need without expecting anything in return. He was a friend to all and many people looked to him. He was also a member of the Middletown Lodge F & AM #271.Joe loved the Lord with all of his being and was a member of the Middletown Community Church. He was a walking example of God's love. Survivors include his wife of 39 A½ years, Joyce (Thrawley) Bosman whom he married on May 26, 1972. His children include Gene Vaught, who is with him in heaven, Brad & Joyce Vaught, Shari Vaught, Greg & Lisa Bosman, Malcolm & Beth Harvey, Pat & Teri Shelton. Pappy's grandchildren are Matthew & Monica Vaught, Jody & Missi Shelton, Jason & Kelly Shelton, Abraham Vaught, Bryan & AshLeigh Key, Zachary Harvey, Kassi & Tim Scheffler, Ryan Shelton, Blake Harvey, Elliott Bosman, Joe Shelton, & Hannah Bosman. His Great Grandchildren are Jordan Vaught, Dawson Vaught, Sunny Harvey, Macy Scheffler, Luke Scheffler, Jesse Shelton, Auddie Shelton, Maddie Shelton, Kaylee, Noah, Jasmine Shelton, & Briar Shelton. Those in heaven with him are his parents, John & Thelma Bosman, Charlie & Beth Thrawley, and his son Gene Vaught. Friends may call on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown. The Funeral Services will be at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:30am with calling hours one hour prior. Pastors officiating are Rev. Jeff Landon, Rev. Brenda Huffman, Rev. Art Leftridge and Rev. Marty Ballard. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery with full military honors.
