John E. Barr

October 5, 1934 — April 30, 2024

John Everett Barr, 89, of Anderson IN, passed away on April 30th, at Rawlins House, Pendleton IN, from the grip of Parkinson's Disease. He was Born in Anderson IN to Clifford Barr and Mary (Moore) Barr.

He graduated for Anderson High School in 1952. During his high school years, he was active in choral club contributing his beautiful tenor voice. He also worked in a small grocery sacking and delivering, claiming always that was the best most enjoyed job he ever had.

He was married right out of High School at 17 working at that Grocery store. His wife saw his brilliance and pulled some strings landing him an interview with the Engineering Department at Delco-Remy in Anderson, IN. He was Hired! He was a Statistical Analyst and Test Planner for Product Engineering. His accomplishment there included Mediating planning between Product and Process Engineering managers with new products or improvements to Delco-Remy products. He assisted in setting up a Delco-Remy plant in Juarez Mexico for the last couple of years before retiring in Texas. He was a Master of Manufacturing Statistics and testing resource for Delco-Remy's plants around the U.S. He still loved that grocery bagging and did a little of that in Kerrville TX upon retiring!

John is survived by his children, Steven (Cindy) Barr of Willow Park, TX, Christine (Mike) Masters of Middletown, IN, Harold Barr of Yorktown, VA, and Richard (Debra) Austin of Green Cove Springs, FL. He had 9 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grands and 1 Great Great Grandson. One of 8 children, he is survived by Sisters- Ruthie (Jim) Barbre, Katie (late Paul) Pratt, Debbie (late Ron) Walker, Brothers Gary (Cathy) Barr, and Daniel (Darcy) Barr and many many Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to his Parents Clifford and Mary, he was proceeded in Death by his beloved wife Laquita Kelllum Barr, Sister Charlotte (Don) Bates and Brother Dwight (Joanne) Barr.

The Family plans to gather together over the coming days to celebrate his life and mourn his passing before he is returned to the Beautiful Texas Hill Country he and Laquita so loved.
