Joann E. Shore

Joann E. Shore, age 89 passed away early Saturday morning at the Waters of Yorktown. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 1, 1920 and was the daughter of Leander and Elizabeth (O'Conner) Dragoo.She was a 1938 graduate of Muncie Central High School and was employed at Ball Memorial Hospital, Delco Remy, Ball Stores and retired in 1985 from K-Mart South as a retail manager.She lived in Muncie all of her adult life and was a member of the Muncie's Duplicate Bridge Club (a Life Master) the K-Mart Retirees Club and attended the College Avenue United Methodist Church. She also loved animals, playing bridge and going shopping.She is preceeded in death by her husband, William Shore; a granddaughter, Erin Clark; and a brother, Fred Dragoo.Survivors include: a son Jeff (wife Lee Anne) Shore of Daleville, one daughter, Judy (husband Leslie) Croswell, of Nellysford, Virginia. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren; Keely Windham (husband Robert) of Newport News, Virginia, and Lauren Shore of Daleville, one great grandchild and 2 great great grandchildren, along with two grand dogs Max and Sadie.Visitation will be from 12 until 2 on Monday July 12 at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville with funeral service at 2 PM. The officiating minister will be Mark Hinshaw from Embrace Hospice and burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie Indiana.Memorial contributions may go to the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) at 1209 W. Riggin Road, Muncie, Indiana.
