Daleville...Jimmie Walter Franks,66. a long time resident of Daleville, died om May 6, 2007 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on July 23, 1940 and was the son of Orville Franks and Lula Thompson. He was employed by Chevrolet for 8 years, Westinghouse for 9 years and was a United States Postal carrier for 22 years. He served his country as an Airman in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana. He was an elder of the Daleville Christian Church, the Rural Letter Carriers Association and the Teamsters 287. He loved riding horses and painting.He was preceded in death by his parents: Orville J. and Betty Jean Franks and Hubert D. Robinson. Surviving is his wife, Robin Johnson of Daleville, his mother: Lula B Robinson of Muncie, two sons; Jimmy Allen Franks (wife Cindy) of Lakeland, FL, and Jody Ray (wife Susan) Franks of Babson Park, FL, three Daughters; Tammy Franks (fiance, Mark Winningham) of Muncie, Carol Rhodes (husband John) of Yorktown, Tina Rabel (husband Tracy) of Muncie, three Sisters; Sally Taylor of Muncie, Debra Giles of Tulsa, Ok and Janet White of Tulsa, Ok, twelve Grandchildren.. Alyssa and Meagan Franks, Ashley and Travis wife (Caroline) Gregory , Brittney, Bryce, Brennan Rhodes ,Taylor and Kirsten Rabel, Samantha, Cory and Carter Franks, 2 great grandchildren; Destiny and Allie Gregory, several neices and Nephews and Cousins. Memorial services will be Saturday at 1pm at the Daleville Christian Church, 14220 West Daleville Rd, Daleville with Rev. Gary McManus officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Daleville Christian Church Youth Fund.
