Jerry Lee Whitinger

Jerry Lee Whitinger, 76 of Middletown passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. He was born on September 17, 1947 a son to the late Bennie and Margaret (Randolph) Spell.
Jerry was a 1965 graduate of Middletown High School. He was an Air Force veteran and was proud to serve his county. Jerry loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was able to see America while he and his wife drove a semi, which gave him the opportunity to see his family. Jerry enjoyed watching old westerns.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Sims; son, Charlie (Cheryl) Whitinger; grandsons, Derek (Heather) Luttrell and Mitchell (Karlee Desisto) McCormick; great grandchildren, TJ and Alexis; loved by many other family members.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Paulene (Walters); brother, Glen Spell; granddaughter, Brittney Luttrell; loving parents, Margaret and Bennie Spell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Memorial contributions may be made to Middletown EMS at Box 1, Middletown, Indiana 47356. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
