Jerry M. Wattenbarger Sr.

Jerry M. Wattenbarger, Sr., 66, of rural New Castle passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1956 in New Castle to the late Lester Horace and Melvina Joanne (Barnette) Wattenbarger.
He attended Shenandoah High School then later started L & J Trucking Company, which he owned and operated for many years. He also was employed by Armstrong Farms as a truck driver. He enjoyed watching western movies and mowing his lawn. But more than anything, he loved spending time with his grandsons and family.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Darlene (Denney) Wattenbarger; sons, Jerry Jr. (Lindsey) Wattenbarger and Nathan Wattenbarger; grandchildren, Jacob Dean, Hunter Wayne, Devin Jackson and Owen Clay Wattenbarger; several nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Mudflap.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death a brother, Gene Wattenbarger.
Per Jerry’s request, there will be no public services held at this time. A memorial gathering will be at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. You may express condolences or share a memory of Jerry at www.ballardandsons.com .
