Anderson...Jerry Lee Simmons, 68, resident of Madison County, passed away on Sunday morning, March 27, 2005 at his residence, after an extended illness.He was born January 10, 1937 in Elwood, the son of Clarence A. and Mary DePaolo Simmons.He served in the Indiana National Guard and retired from Delco Remy in Anderson, Plant 3, in 1992.He was a member of the UAW 662 and the National Rifle Association and the National Muzzle Loaders Association.Survivors include his wife of 48 years: Darlene (Fortwengler) of Markleville, 1 daughter: April May Short of Silver Lake, IN, 4 sons: Jerry Lee Simmons, II (Ruby) of Pendleton, Scott Andrew Simmons (Karen) of Anderson, Anthony Ray Simmons of Middletown and Christopher Allen Simmons of Markleville, 1 sister: Maria S. Biddle (Roger) of Middletown and 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 nephew.Private services were held at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
