Jerry Don Mandrell Sr.

Jerry Don Mandrell Sr., 83, resident of Markleville, passed away August 21, 2022 at his residence. He was born July 10, 1939 in Pittsburg, Illinois the son of the late Roy and Marguerite (Dorsett) Mandrell.
He was married for 54 years to Carolyn Sue upon her passing in 2021.
Jerry was a life long member of the Union of Bricklayers. He did many jobs around Middletown throughout his life and wasn't afraid to take on anything. He loved racing and owned several modifieds. Jerry loved NASCAR and loved travelling to NASCAR tracks with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed fishing and spent a lot of his time at Salamonie Reservoir.
He is survived by his son; Jerry "Donnie" (Girlfriend, Roberta Rice) Mandrell, Jr.; step daughter, Brenda (Jim) Stambaugh; sister, Audrey Buttry; a very special nephew, Jessee Bilbrey and special family friend, Karen Mandrell; grandchildren, Micky (Kacey) Alspaugh, Julia (Michael) Rasbaugh, Obie (Kandice) Poole, Chaz (Natalie) Poole; twelve great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown. Burial will be at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Middletown EMS, Box 1, Middletown, IN 47356.
