Middletown...Jerry Hillery, 70, passed away with his daughters by his side, on December 6, 2008 at Community Hospital in Anderson, after a brave battle with cancer.He was born August 15, 1938 in Muncie, Indiana, the son of James M. and Thelma Hillery.He attended and graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1957. He then attended Ball State University.He served in the Army from 1961-63. Jerry retired from Delco Remy in 1999.He enjoyed his farm, reading, and time with his granddaughters more than anything.Survivors include his daughters: Amy E. Shepherd (Greg) of Anderson and Emily S. Hall (Doug) of Ossian, granddaughters: Hillery and Holly Shepherd and Lily Hall; three brothers: James L. Hillery, John R. Hillery, and Rex Hillery; a sister: Mrs. Pat Banawitz and many nieces and nephews.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Dr. Robert Hillery, Arthur L. Hillery, his twin brother: Larry Hillery, 1 sister: Mrs. Jean Heilman.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow at Mt.
