Middletown....Jerry Lynn Chapman, 72, resident of Middletown, passed away Tuesday at his residence.He was born in Henry County, January 15, 1942, the son of Rufus Lowell and Thelma Brown Chapman.He was a 1962 graduate of Middletown High School and retired from Delphi (General Motors) in 2002.He was a US Army Veteran serving in Germany.He was a member of the Middletown Lodge #271 and the Middletown Fall Creek Historical Society.He was a former Lions Club member and a member of the Upper Fall Creek Church of the Brethern.Survivors include his wife: Debbie (Kirk): of Middletown, children: Tony (Suzanne) Chapman of Windsor, MO, LeAnn Chapman of Middletown, Marcy Chapman of Oklahoma City, OK, Scott VanAlst (Lisa) of Plainfield. CT, and Amy Hancock of Middletown, 12 grandchildren, brother-in-law: Phil Ambs of Springfield, OH, 1 brother: Bill Chapman (Janet) of Middletown and sisters: Nancy Cook of Luray and Sue Melton (Bob) of Daleville, several nieces and nephews.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Joyce Ambs.Celebration services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Rev. Dennis Helton and Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 PM with Masonic services at 8:00.Memorials may be made to the Upper Fall Creek Church of the Brethern.Online Guestbook at:
